Okay, so today I was digging into something I’ve always been a bit curious about: Did Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson play in the NFL? I mean, the guy’s built like a tank, and he’s got that whole wrestler persona, so it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if he had, right?

Most of what I found was talking about how he played college football. He was with the University of Miami, a pretty big deal in college football. Sounds promising, he played as a defensive lineman, and apparently, he was decent. Not like, superstar level, but he held his own.
Then, I looked into what happened after college. Did he get drafted? Was he picked up by any teams? I scrolled through a bunch of articles and forum discussions. What I gathered was that he went undrafted in the 1995 NFL Draft. That’s a bummer, but you know what? Many folks who didn’t get drafted in NFL still made their way to be a super star! So I kept searching. And I found he actually signed with the Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League. He was a practice roster player, which means he wasn’t a starter or anything.
After digging a little deeper, I found that his time with the Stampeders was super short. Like, two months short. Apparently, he got cut, and that was the end of his pro football journey. It wasn’t some glorious, long career, but hey, he gave it a shot, right?

So, I guess it all worked out in the end, right? And I learned something new today, that’s always a win.
