Alright, let’s talk about XDefiant loadouts. I’ve been putting some serious time into this game since it dropped, getting a feel for things. You know how it goes, you jump in, try a few things, get absolutely melted, and start wondering what secret sauce everyone else is using. I was determined to figure out a setup that actually felt strong, something reliable, you know, the stuff people call ‘meta’.

So, first off, I just started playing. Grabbed the M4A1 because, well, it’s familiar, right? It was okay, did the job sometimes, but didn’t feel special. Got outgunned a lot up close, and sometimes at range too. Then I thought, maybe I’ll try sniping? Grabbed the TAC-50. Spent a few games trying to find good spots, landed a couple of nice shots, but mostly just got rushed by folks flying around corners. Too slow for my blood, at least most of the time.

I kept noticing I was getting dropped super fast by two guns more than others. One felt like a laser beam AR, the other was just this buzzsaw SMG deleting me before I could even react. Paid closer attention to the killcam and the weapons people were carrying. Yep, seemed like the ACR 6.8 and the MP7 were everywhere. So I figured, okay, let’s stop messing around and really focus on these two.

Digging into the ACR 6.8

I decided to tackle the ACR first. Picked it in my loadout and jumped in. Stock standard, it felt… decent? A bit jumpy maybe, but the damage felt good. The real work started then: leveling the thing up. Man, that was a grind. Playing match after match, trying to get those kills, complete those little challenges just to unlock the attachments. It took a while.

Once I started getting attachments, the real experimenting began. I went through a bunch of stuff:

  • Barrel: Tried the Recon barrel first. Liked the range boost, but man it made the gun feel slow to aim. Swapped to the Lightweight barrel. Yeah, that felt way better, much snappier for moving around and aiming down sights.
  • Grip: The recoil needed taming. Slapped on the Stabilizing Grip. Huge difference. Made those follow-up shots way easier to control. Tried others, but kept coming back to this one.
  • Optic: Just went with a simple Reflex sight. Tried the Holo too, but preferred the cleaner look of the Reflex. Kept it simple.
  • Stock: Fiddled with a few. Ended up using the Padded Stock. Helped deal with getting shot at while I was aiming, less flinch.
  • Magazine: Stuck with the Quick Mag. Reloading faster just keeps you in the fight.

After a lot of mixing and matching, getting a feel for how each part changed the gun, I settled on a build that felt really consistent for me. Good control, fast enough ADS, hits hard.

Tackling the MP7

Okay, so the ACR covered my mid-range game. But I still needed something for those close-up scrambles, pushing objectives, you know? Time for the MP7.

Picked it up, and stock, it was fast! But the recoil felt a bit wild, sprayed a bit. Back to the attachment grind again. It felt a bit quicker to level this one, maybe because I was getting into more close fights.

Here’s what I messed with:

  • Muzzle: Tried the Barrel Extender first for a bit more range, but honestly, for what I wanted the MP7 for, it wasn’t needed. Went with the Muzzle Booster. Yeah, that extra fire rate felt nasty up close.
  • Barrel: Kept the standard barrel mostly, didn’t feel the need to change it much for close quarters. Focused elsewhere.
  • Grip: This was important. The Lightweight Grip made aiming down sights super fast. Felt really good for snapping onto targets.
  • Magazine: Again, Quick Mag. Can’t beat faster reloads on an SMG.
  • Stock: Removed the stock entirely! Yeah, just took it off. Made moving and aiming speed crazy fast. Recoil was a bit more, sure, but up close, the speed mattered more.

This MP7 setup became my go-to for running and gunning. Super fast, melts people if you hit your shots. Definitely need to control it, but the speed is worth it.

Rounding it Out

For my sidearm, I just stuck with the M9 pistol. It’s reliable, gets the job done if I run dry. Nothing fancy. For equipment, I usually run the Frag Grenade. Good old reliable frag, useful for clearing corners or finishing off weak enemies.

So yeah, that’s basically my journey to finding loadouts that work for me right now in XDefiant. Lots of trial and error, lots of getting owned, and slowly unlocking stuff to see what felt right. The ACR 6.8 with that setup feels great for holding down lanes, and the MP7 build is just chaos up close. This is what I’ve found works through just playing the game a bunch. Things might change, patches happen, but right now, these feel pretty strong. Give ’em a try if you’re looking for a place to start, but definitely tweak them yourself to see what feels best for you.
