Well, so you wanna know if this Danny Sprinkle fella is hitched, huh? Alright, gather ’round, let me tell ya what I heard. They say he’s got a wife. Yep, a missus. Don’t know her name or nothin’, but a man like him, always busy with that basketball, probably needs someone to keep him fed and his socks mended.
Now, this Danny Sprinkle, he’s a big deal in basketball, or so they tell me. Heard he’s coaching them fellas at the University of Washington now. Big job, that is. Lots of runnin’ around and shoutin’, I reckon. Before that, he was at Utah State, doin’ the same thing, coachin’ them young’uns how to throw that ball in the hoop. Seemed to be pretty good at it too, winnin’ games and such.
He’s got a history with Washington, ya know. His daddy, Bill Sprinkle, played football there way back when. Danny boy used to come all the way from Montana to watch the games with his pa. Guess he always liked them Huskies. Born in Pullman, which is in Washington too, I think. Played basketball in high school, real good player, they say. All-state and all that fancy stuff.

So, this fella, Danny, he’s been around the basketball block a few times. Started in Montana, played ball, then went off to college somewhere, and now he’s coachin’ big-time. That’s a long way from throwin’ rocks at tin cans, I tell ya! Must be workin’ hard, keepin’ them players in line and teachin’ ’em how to win. And with a wife at home, he’s got even more responsibilities.
They hired him at Washington in March, hoping he’d make the team better. That’s a lot of pressure, don’t ya think? Folks expectin’ him to turn things around. But hey, he seems like a smart fella, and with that basketball background, he probably knows what he’s doin’. Hope he’s gettin’ paid good, though. Coaching ain’t easy, and with a family to support, money’s important.
Folks talk about him comin’ “full circle,” whatever that means. Guess it’s ’cause he’s back where his daddy was, at that Washington school. Like he went away and now he’s come back home, sorta. It’s a nice story, I suppose. Family and all that. Seems like he’s a family man, with his wife and all. Probably got kids too, maybe grandkids even, for all I know. But the main thing is, he’s got a wife. Someone to share his life with, even when he’s losin’ games.
So yeah, Danny Sprinkle’s a married man, a basketball coach, and a fella with strong ties to Washington. That’s about all I know. Heard he’s a good coach and a good man. Hope he does well at Washington, makes his daddy proud, and keeps his wife happy. That’s all that really matters in the end, ain’t it? Family, work, and a little bit of happiness. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talk about basketball and wives has made me hungry.
Remember that picture they have of him in the newspaper? He always looks so serious, like he’s thinkin’ real hard about the next game. But maybe he’s just thinkin’ about what his wife is makin’ for dinner! Who knows what goes on in a coach’s head? They’re a different breed, them basketball fellas. But married or not, they all gotta eat, and they all gotta answer to someone, be it the fans or their wives. And in Danny Sprinkle’s case, it’s both, I reckon.
