That boy, Xander Schauffele, he’s a good golfer, ain’t he? He done made a name for himself, that one. But you know, a boy ain’t nothin’ without his folks. So, lemme tell ya somethin’ ’bout Xander Schauffele’s parents. They the ones who made him, you know.
His mama and daddy, they met a long time ago. It was way back in ’88, at some fancy college in San Diego. That’s what they say, anyway. United States International University. Big words for a place I ain’t never been. They got hitched real quick, just three months later! Can you believe that? Married in August, just like that, they moved to Germany, that far away country. They had another boy there, Nico, Xander’s big brother. Then they all come back to San Diego later.
Now, his daddy, Stefan, he’s a character. He always got somethin’ to say. They say he was gonna be a big athlete hisself, once upon a time. But somethin’ happened, a car wreck or somethin’, and messed him all up. He can’t see outta one eye, I hear. Tough break, that is. But he done alright. He taught that boy, Xander, how to swing a golf club. Taught him everything he knows, I reckon.
That Stefan, he’s a tough one, too. Makes Xander work hard. Ain’t no easy street with that man. You gotta earn your keep, that’s what he says. And Xander, he listens. He knows his daddy knows what he’s talkin’ ’bout. It is all about Xander Schauffele parents.

Ping Yi, she’s a good mama. She takes care of her boys. Makes sure they got food in their bellies and clothes on their backs. She supports that Xander, too. Goes to all his golf tournaments, cheers him on. She is a proud mama and Stefan is a proud daddy, you know that Xander Schauffele parents is always proud of him. A mama’s love, that’s somethin’ special. And Xander, he loves his mama, too. You can see it in his eyes.
That Stefan, he’s been teachin’ Xander ’bout golf since he was just a little tyke. Got him started early. Showed him how to hold the club, how to swing, how to hit that little white ball just right. And Xander, he was a natural. Took to it like a duck to water. He was winnin’ tournaments before he was even old enough to drive a car!
They say Xander’s got a good friend, another golfer. Cantlay, I think his name is. They won some big tournament together, the Zurich Classic, they call it. They are good friends. Xander says he’s his best friend on that golf tour. They travel ’round the world together, playin’ golf. That Cantlay, he’s a good boy, too, I hear. Xander says he’s “linear.” I don’t know what that means, but it sounds important. Maybe it means he hits the ball straight. I guess that’s good for a golfer.
Xander missed some big win one time. It is his first big one. He was in Louisville, I think. And Stefan, he wasn’t even there! He was off in Hawaii, sleepin’ in a shippin’ container. Can you imagine that? Workin’ on some house or somethin’ for the family. It is a family thing for them. But he was there later, in Troon, to see Xander play. He wouldn’t miss that for the world. Xander Schauffele parents always support him.
And then there’s that other fella, Austin Kaiser. He carries Xander’s golf clubs for him. They call him a caddy. They been together for years, that Xander and Austin. They are friends too. Went to college together, same as Xander and that Cantlay boy. San Diego State University, that’s where they all met. But Austin, he didn’t become a big golfer like Xander. He carries the bag, helps Xander out on the course. They’re a good team, those two.
So, that’s the story of Xander Schauffele’s parents, best as I can tell it. They’re good folks. Hard-workin’ folks. They raised a good boy, that Xander. He’s done ’em proud. And they’re proud of him, too. You can see it in their eyes, every time they talk about him. A family’s love, that’s what it’s all about. And Xander, he knows that. He knows he wouldn’t be where he is today without his mama and daddy. And that’s somethin’ special, ain’t it?
