So, I heard that this new game, Spectre Divide, was gonna have a closed beta test. I was like, “Hell yeah, I gotta get in on that!”
First thing I did was check when it was starting. Turns out, it’s gonna be on August 13th, 2024 at 9 am PST. Noted that down real quick. I was so hyped, I set like five alarms, just in case. I wasn’t gonna miss this for the world.
Then, I found out it’s gonna run until August 21st, 2024 at 6 pm PST. That’s a whole week! Plenty of time to get my game on. I cleared my schedule – told my boss I’d be “sick”, told my friends I was going off the grid. Nothing was gonna stop me from playing this game.
I also checked where this thing was gonna be available. Turns out, it’s just for North America for now. Good thing I’m here, or I’d be seriously bummed out. But, if you’re not in North America, I guess you gotta wait a bit longer, sorry about that.
- Checked the start time: August 13th, 2024, 9 am PST.
- Figured out the end time: August 21st, 2024, 6 pm PST.
- Saw it was for North America only.
- Made sure my PC was up to snuff.
- Joined the game on Steam.
Next up, I checked if my rig could even handle this game. I mean, my PC’s not exactly a potato, but it ain’t the newest thing on the block either. Luckily, it looked like it was gonna be fine. I dusted off the old keyboard and mouse, made sure everything was updated, and got ready to go. I heard it’s on Steam, so I made sure my account was all set up and ready.
Then, I got an idea from the news that we could get an invitation through Twitch Drops! I tried my best to link my account and watched the related live stream for a couple of hours! Luckily I got one!.
On August 13th, I woke up early, made a strong cup of coffee, and sat down at my PC. The moment it hit 9 am, I was in. And let me tell you, it was awesome. I played all day, every day, until the beta ended. It was a wild ride, and I can’t wait for the full game to come out.
